Today is World Adoption Day.

There are estimated 5 million orphaned children in South Africa, with half having lost their parents to HIV/ AIDS. South Africa has the world’s largest number of HIV-infected people in the world. World Adoption Day is aimed at bringing awareness of Adoption and Foster care around the world. If you are unable to take in a child, please consider supporting a home like ours that provides a family to those without.

For information foster care please contact your local Social service office and for information on adoption in South Africa please visit http://www.adoption.org.za/

What we do:
Thandi House Baby Home offers hope and a family to orphaned and abandoned children in Pietermarizburg, We focus on family-centered care, trying to create the most normal and natural family life possible for our children. We believe that every child deserves a family and we try our best to provide our children with the only family some have ever known.

How you can help:
By supporting our home you are helping us create this family environment for children without a family. Our children are whole because they belong, they are loved and they feel secure!

Our monthly costs include things such as rental, water and electricity, petrol, school fees, medical bills, staff, and food. Our children also take part in activities such as swimming, ballet, judo and soccer which are added costs.

Please consider becoming a monthly donor to help us continue to provide our children with the best we possibly can.
